Katherine Somerset, the daughter of the first Baron Raglan, the Field Marshal who won the Alma, Inkermann, and Balaklava when he was in command of the English troops in the Crimean War. Miss Somerset was born in 1824. --- "Aberdeen Press and Journal" 20 Oct 1915, page 3: The Hon. Katherine Somerset, who died last week, was the only surviving daughter of the first Lord Raglan, the Commander-in-Chief of the Army in the Crimea, and A.D.C. and military secretary to the Duke of Wellington during the Peninsular campaign.
